Hi, this is Patrick! I’m a long time nerd turned t1 help desk turned system administrator turned security engineer – it’s that last bit where I’ve really found my focus and passion.I consume security podcasts (shoutout to Risky Business and SANS Internet Storm Center) almost daily, and immediately use that up to date information in my job as an Infosec Specialist at the Environmental Protection Agency (disclaimer: everything on this blog is my personal opinion/musing and does not reflect the official opinions/stances of the U.S. Government). I also have a passion for automating security infrastructure – in a huge enterprise automation is truly key to getting anything done. Especially if you want to stay on top of your cloud environments. I should also note that I am a herald of IPv6! I unapologetically love it and work to make sure everything I do works seamlessly on IPv6.

Outside of the tech world I spend a lot of time road cycling, watching anime, and playing video games – mostly JRPGs… and gacha games. A few of the personal projects I’ll be posting about marry my love of automation and my hobbies. Just like I’ve combined my love of cycling and Hatsune Miku! I promise, I’m totally normal and spent a normal amount of money on bikes and Miku.

Why is it .casa? Simple! I bought .blog before I realized Route53 doesn’t support it… and .casa was cheap!
